"Zebra Shark"

Zebra sharks are elusive, solitary beings that live a peaceful life on the sea floor - slowly cruising over bright coral reefs and white, rippling sand flats while the sun casts its rays through the tropical waters that they call home. Their young hatch with striking black and white stripes (like a zebra!), which fade as they grow and are replaced by their iconic leopard-like spots. Needless to say, I have always felt drawn to these rare and incredible creatures. 
 
This piece features a zebra shark rising to the surface, its fin cutting through the water and sending ripples radiating outwards. Through this piece, I hope to bring the beauty and mystery of these fascinating creatures to our awareness and shed light on their vulnerable status as a species.
